The Playbase is coming to town!

playbaseWe think that the cold Scottish winter might have changed at last into the sunny Scottish spring, so we’re planning to bring the Playbase to green spaces around Broxburn and Uphall during May and June.

In case you haven’t heard about it, it’s part of our outreach work and consists of two tents which fit together to form an exciting outdoor play space.  It’s designed and equipped for families with children under 5 years old and gives them a chance to run about mad, get messy or just chill out in the tent.

We’re going to be popping up in places around Broxburn and Uphall to share with families who live in the area of the Family Centre what we do best… PLAY!!

So look out for us on Wednesday mornings in May and June, we’ll post details of venues where we’ll be on our facebook page a few days before, so if you ‘like’ us you’ll get the latest news.  If you don’t do facebook, give us a call on 01506 857158 to find out where we’ll be.

We have designed a ‘Play Plan’ that staff use to record observations of our children to ensure we design activities and play spaces that meet the needs of all children. If you wish to see your child’s ‘Play Plan’ please let us know and we will arrange a time to discuss this with you. If you have any questions about ‘Play Plans’ please do speak to us.

It’s a busy week with two Range clubs parties with over 60 children and a trip to the panto, plus the Playroom party for families on Tuesday 18th.  We’re very lucky that Santa has promised to be there and is wrapping the presents right now!  The fridge if full of tasty party food, the tree is sparkling and there will even be a grotto and perhaps an elf or two.

Our adult groups finish on Friday 14th so the Health Group celebrated with some entertaining party games – we all know that laughter is the best medicine.

To welcome in the new year, come along to our Family Centre Open Day, on Tuesday 15th January, 10.30 – 1.30pm to find out about what we do and how you can get involved – there’ll be soup and cakes to sample too.  No need to book just drop in, call Tansy on 01506 857158 if you’d like to know more.
