Babies’ Blackness Adventure

early years children at blacknessThere’s always lots to play with in Broxburn Family Centre’s Playroom, but as our Play Policy says, we like to get out and about too, to provide children with more interesting and varied opportunties for play.

So as the sun was shining last Thursday afternoon the Early Years staff loaded up the minibus and took the wee ones on an adventure to Blackness beach.  While their mums and dads were back at the centre studying hard in our ‘English for speakers of other languages’ class, their children were exploring the beach, scrambling over the rocks, investigating sea-shells and rock pools and enjoying the freedom to play outside.  They also had a picnic on the beach at snack time, although some preferred to eat the sand instead!

There were lots of smiles on the beach, then sleepy children in the bus on the way back to the centre – lucky parents!
